Thief River Linen Passes to a New Generation.

StudioPeele Home has purchased the assets of fabric house and soft goods manufacturer- Thief River Linen, including the Thief River Linen name.

Thief River Linen was started by Linda Bentson over 20 years ago as a grassroots sewing operation based in Thief River Falls, MN.  Linda grew the company to the well-respected, quality-oriented company it is today.

Thief River Linen manufactures and imports bedding, window panels, and fabric.  They sell to the trade in both the residential and hospitality markets.

Linda Bentson remains with the company as a business consultant.  Bentson said, “Emily Peele and I have worked closely together for years.  We share a love of beautiful fabrics, fresh designs, and a deep desire to provide our customers the very best in service.  It gives me great pleasure to assist as Emily and her partners put their own stamp on the company while preserving those basic qualities for which Thief River Linen has always been known.”

Emily Peele worked under Bentson for almost five years before taking a brief hiatus to establish her design firm in 2008.  Emily has partnered with Tamara Joyce and Philip Young, both of Carolina Safety Sport, a successful apparel manufacturer, and together they have formed StudioPeele Home LLC.

CSSport is a manufacturer and importer of safety and sporting apparel.  Tamara Joyce, co-owner of CSSport and new partner of StudioPeele Home exclaims, “We are constantly looking at ways to be more diversified in our manufacturing.  We feel in today’s economy being diversified is even more important.  With the purchase of Thief River Linen along with the new opportunities that StudioPeele Home will present we are excited about the possibilities of growing our NC operations in very different directions than our staple manufacturing of safety vests.  We feel like we are turning over a new leaf!”

Thief River Linen’s operations will be moved to Thomasville, NC.  The company will return to show at the High Point furniture market this April, as well as continue showing at the Hospitality shows in both Las Vegas and Miami.

Peele noted, “I am excited to be returning to the soft goods industry and to Thief River Linen.  We want to continue on the tradition of excellence and inspiring design that Linda has forged.  We also hope to strengthen the lasting relationships with our clients, and the quality service they value in the Thief River Linen name.”
